Calamintha nepeta ‘Montrose White’ (Calamint)

Overview and growing conditions

‘Montrose White’ Calamint is a flowering perennial. It grows best in a spot where it gets sun for most of the day. It may benefit from average watering when it’s first getting established, but it pretty quickly becomes drought tolerant. In my own garden I don’t give this plant any extra water, and it grows just fine with whatever rain we get, even in the hottest part of the summer.

When does it flower? How long does it flower?

It starts flower in the summer and keeps going until frost. The flowers may start fading as summer goes on, but the plant still looks presentable until frost.

How easy is it to care for ‘Montrose White’ Calamint?

Overall score: 10 (extremely easy).

Preparing ‘Montrose White’ Calamint for winter

There’s nothing to do to prepare ‘Montrose White’ Calamint for winter. You can cut it back either in the fall or spring. I normally don’t cut it back in the fall, and then it dies back on its own over the winter. You could likely completely forget about it all year and still have a pretty decent looking plant.
