Hatch Gardens
Hello! I’m a gardener living in the Mid-Atlantic area in a zone 7 garden. I’m a self-taught gardener and have learned a lot through trial and error over the years.
Over time I’ve realized there are a few things that are important to me in my own garden. One is that it is as low-maintenance as possible. I want to know that my garden can survive if I can’t water it daily or be constantly trimming and tidying it up.
I’m also always looking for plants that work in my small yard, which means they need to be the right size. This also means they need to look interesting for as much of the year as possible, since I see all parts of my garden all year round. There’s nowhere to hide the plants that only look good for two weeks and then disappear or get floppy for the rest of the year.
Finally, I’ve learned that there are some techniques I can use to create a beautiful garden with less money. This includes taking care of my plants with compost I make myself and propagating my own plants to avoid having to buy too many of each plant.
I’m excited to share my gardening adventures and pass on what I’ve learned in my gardening journey so far!
